Blue Ridge Parkway Announces Concession Opportunity at Northwest Trading Post

GLENDALE SPRINGS, N.C. — The Blue Ridge Parkway is accepting proposals for a concession contract for retail services at the Northwest Trading Post. The Northwest Trading Post is located at milepost 258.7 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Glendale Springs, N.C., and is approximately 45 minutes north of Boone and Blowing Rock, N.C. The Northwest Trading Post has offered retail merchandise and food and beverage services to visitors since 1958. The new contract will be for a 10-year term and is expected to begin in early 2027. 

The prospectus describes this business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the contract. It is available on the park’s website at www.nps.gov/subjects/concessions/cc_blri002-27. The park has planned a site visit for Aug. 3. Those interested in attending the site visit must register beforehand by emailing e-mail us.

All businesses planning to submit a proposal should read the instructions in the prospectus document and submit a notice of intent no later than Aug. 10. Proposals are due by Sept. 17. Direct all questions related to this business opportunity to e-mail us.
