The deadline for returning harvest cards for the 2011-2012 hunting season is April 8, 2012. This year there is no grace period. Hunters who fail to return their harvest cards by April 8 will not be allowed to get hunting permits for Big Thicket National Preserve for the 2012-2013 season. Preserve management uses the harvest card data to monitor long-term harvest trends and to make decisions regarding the hunting program management.
