Saturday, November, 11, is Veterans Day. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice which ended World War I in 1918. But this day also has greater meaning. It’s a day to recognize the sacrifice and dedication of the men and women who have served in the armed forces. Big Thicket National Preserve wants to thank them for their service.
In recognition of those active duty military members who are currently serving our nation, the National Park Service (NPS) would like to invite you to take advantage of the FREE military pass to your national parks.
Come visit Big Thicket National Preserve or any NPS site to pick up a free military pass. (Valid military identification is required.) Available at no cost, this pass gives active duty military members and their dependents free access to all federal recreational lands. Big Thicket is proud to be one of many sites that honors our active duty military members, issuing passes and giving veterans and service members alike a peaceful place to relax, recharge, and reconnect. More information about the military pass and other passes to federal lands visit https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm.
