Oneida, Tennessee - Venture into the hollows of Big South Fork NRRA as we celebrate the time-honored tradition of storytelling in Kentucky during the 14th annual Blue Heron Ghost Mine on Friday, October 18, 2024.
This free event will begin at 6:00 PM (ET) with Junior Ranger activities and living history demonstrators. Music will be provided by Chris Young and David Howard beginning at 6:00 PM.
At 8:00 PM (ET), four local storytellers will spin spooky tales under the shadow of the historic coal tipple. Local vendors will be on site to sell food, crafts, and other items. Enjoy this event by arriving by train or by personal vehicle. There is no fee to drive in and park at Blue Heron. There is a charge to ride the train down, and train tickets can be purchased from the Big South Fork Scenic Railway, headquartered in Stearns, Kentucky.
