Los Alamos, NM: Bandelier National Monument welcomes the third and final Artist in Residence of the 2018 season, Mr. Larry Hughes. With roots in Arizona and California, his primary artistic interests are western wilderness areas, particularly National Parks, the Sonoran Desert, and northern New Mexico, where he hikes trails to create art used to support later studio work. A passionate conservationist, Mr. Hughes sees art not only as a pure aesthetic expression, but also as an opportunity to celebrate natural splendor. His works hangs in numerous collections and include representational and landscape inspired abstract work.
