Los Alamos, N.M. – Bandelier National Monument is hosting an event to celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
There will be opportunities for visitors to learn about public lands: different Bandelier divisions, such as Resource Management, Fire Management, Administration, and more will be setting up tables to talk about their work and how it connects to the park. Visitors are also invited to participate in a cleanup of areas recently affected by flash flooding. Other activities include a litter pickup around the visitor center, programs about Leave No Trace, and more.
In addition, Bandelier National Monument will waive all entrance fees on Saturday, September 28 in celebration of National Public Lands Day.
Please note that parking in Frijoles Canyon is limited. It is common for parking lots to reach full capacity. When this happens, visitors are not permitted to enter, and are asked to return later in the day. It is recommended to arrive before 9 am or after 3 pm to avoid parking lot congestion.
