Los Alamos, N.M. – Bandelier National Monument’s Tsankawi Unit will be temporarily closed on the morning of Thursday, September 26 for traditional cultural activities. It will reopen to the public at 12 noon.
“It’s important that our affiliated tribes have access and privacy to engage in activities that are critical to their culture and traditions,” said Superintendent Patrick Suddath. “We hope that visitors understand and respect this as we temporarily close the site.”
All other areas of the Bandelier, including Frijoles Canyon and the Pueblo Loop Trail will be open. The trail between Long House and the Upper Crossing of Frijoles Canyon remains closed due to damage from recent flooding.
