BERLIN, Maryland - Are you looking for a last minute gift for that wildlife watcher on your Christmas list? How about a year-long entrance pass to the best beach the mid-Atlantic region has to offer - Assateague Island. The 2013 Annual Pass to Assateague Island National Seashore is now available. The $30 pass provides entrance to the National Seashore in both the Maryland and Virginia Districts. This year's Annual Pass features a beautiful photograph of three wild horses running through the bay taken by private tour guide Mark B. Coulbourne. Beginning this year, annual passes will be valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. This is a change we anticipate many of our frequent visitors will appreciate. Previous versions were valid for a calendar year. Once signed, annual passes are non-transferable. Photo identification may be requested to verify ownership on entry to the park. The 2013 Annual Passes may be purchased at the National Seashore Entrance Station and Ranger Station in the Maryland District, and the Toms Cove Visitor Center in the Virginia District. For those who frequent other Federal fee areas, the 2013 America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass is available online at the USGS store. For $80.00 you have access to more than 2,000 recreation areas managed by five Federal agencies. For more information on Assateague Island National Seashore, visit www.nps.gov/asis |
