Lee Girls' Dressing Room

Girls' Dressingroom

This room connects to the bedchamber on the right. The three youngest Lee girls used it as a closet and changing room. It was also a playroom and storage space for the Lee children's toys in their youth. As the children grew up, it became a more traditional dressing room, used to store clothing and skirts. The Lee girls also used this room to teach the Custis enslaved children how to read and write.
