The newest mural in Ashland’s Mural Walk will be unveiled on June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., in a public ceremony on the corner of 9th Avenue West and Main in Ashland, Wisconsin. The mural, which will be on the east wall of Star Liquor, features the rich natural beauty of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. National Park Superintendent Bob Krumenaker noted, “The mural celebrates the 100th birthday of the National Park Service in 2016 while featuring the National Park unit in Ashland’s front yard. The dedication, foresight, and fundraising of the Friends of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and the Mural Walk Board made this possible. The artwork of Sue Martinsen is truly inspiring.” |
