QUINCY, MA – Don’t be alarmed if the John Adams Birthplace looks different this winter! Adams National Historical Park is launching a project to remove and replace the exterior pine clapboards of the John Adams Birthplace. This project is being funded by visitor entrance fees.
The front and west side of the building will be encased so the project can be completed over the winter. In addition to replacing the wooden clapboards, a vapor barrier will be installed to protect the original wooden features. Once completed, the historic fabric and features of the John Adams Birthplace will be retained and ready to greet visitors! Work is expected to continue through the winter.
