Schoodic Woods Campground

Schoodic Woods Campground is located 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Winter Harbor on the Schoodic Peninsula. It is the only campground on the mainland section of the park.

  • Season Dates: May 26, 2021 – October 10, 2021 (subject to change)

  • Camping Fees (Credit/Debit Cards Only - No Cash/Checks):

    • $22 hike-in tent sites (primitive)

    • $30 drive up tent/small RV (20 amp)

    • $36 RV with electric only sites (20/30/50 amp)

    • $40 RV with electric and water (20/30/50 amp)

    • $60 group tent sites

Discounts available for Senior and Access pass holders.

NOTICE: At ALL HIKE-IN CAMPSITES, setting, building, maintaining, attending, or using a campfire (including charcoal) is prohibited. Stoves and grills fueled by petroleum fuels such as Liquid Propane Gas (LPG), butane, or white gas are allowed.

 
 

Campground FAQs

  1. I have not made a reservation. Are there any campsites available for tonight?
    The campground is generally full or near capacity from mid-June through mid-September. The Schoodic Woods Campground ranger station cannot do reservations over the phone. Please do not contact the ranger station about site availability until after noon. The ranger station is generally open from 8 am to 8 pm but hours are subject to change depending on staffing levels.

  2. Are there any campsites available on ______ (a future date)?
    We are unable to see campsite availability beyond two days. Please click on the reservations link above to check availability of a future date.

  3. Does Schoodic Woods Campground have showers?
    No. However, showers are available from private vendors that are within a short drive from the campground. You can request this information when you check into your campsite.

  4. How far is Schoodic Woods Campground from Acadia National Park?
    Schoodic Woods Campground is part of Acadia National Park. It is about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Bar Harbor, near where the main area of the park is located.

  5. We will be arriving late. Is there anything we need to do?
    Arriving after hours? Your name and site number will be posted on the Late Arrivals board behind the ranger station. Please check in at the ranger station before 10 am. If you are not arriving on the first day/night that your reservation begins, you must call (207) 288-1300 or forfeit reservation.
