Bar Harbor, ME - A retaining wall approximately 10 feet high and 20 feet wide collapsed on the Duck Brook Road, about 200 yards north of the Duck Brook Bridge. This wall is integral to the support of the road. The failure has resulted in the need to close the road to motorized vehicles from the bridge north and then east to where the Duck Brook Road meets the park portion of West Street Extension.Signed, concrete barriers will be placed at both ends of the closed section of road, allowing non-motorized access for bikes and pedestrians. At this point, funding doesn't exist to complete the repairs and the road will remain closed until repairs can be made. |
