Clearing of roads in Acadia National Park - April 15, 2011 Bar Harbor, ME - In preparing for the Park Loop Road to open on April 15, there will be heavy equipment on the roads on weekdays, clearing snow, ice, and any rocks or trees that have fallen onto the road over the winter. Please use extreme caution when walking or biking on the closed portions of the loop road, in anticipation of encountering large vehicles going either way. Bikers, please use extra caution when approaching closed park gates. The Park Loop Road will open entirely on April 15, weather permitting. The Hulls Cove Visitor Center will also open on that day. For more information on specific road openings and closings, and conditions of trails and carriage roads, call 288-3338 and press "0", Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. |
