In celebration of Acadia's Centennial, the National Park Service (NPS) and other Acadia Centennial Partners will host a variety of programs and activities throughout May, including the new People of the First Light exhibit at the Abbe Museum, the interactive Auto Wars: Then &Now exhibit at the Seal Cove Auto Museum, park-inspired music by the Acadia Choral Society, and a kaleidoscope of events celebrating the visual arts. Also in May, TEDxDirigo, a conference series dedicated to innovation and creativity, will present Ebb &Flow, which will feature scientists, artists, writers, and adventurers discussing how the human and physical landscape have influenced one another in and around Acadia National Park. In Winter Harbor, the NPS and Schoodic Institute will host activities for all ages at the International Migratory Bird Day combined with National Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, May 14, from 1 to 4 pm. Acadia Centennial Partners will also host various walks, activities, and discussions as part of International Migratory Bird Day. The NPS will continue to open visitor facilities throughout the park in May.The Jordan Pond House will open on May 18, and Sieur de Monts Nature Center will open weekends beginning May 7.
