In celebration of National Park Week, April 19-26, National Junior Ranger Day will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sieur de Monts Spring area in Acadia National Park. The park, the Abbe Museum, the Wild Gardens of Acadia, and Friends of Acadia have teamed together to offer many different activities for families with children 12 years old or younger. There’s no charge to participate and children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities will happen rain or shine, so families should be prepared for any kind of weather. Participants can bring a lunch and picnic on the lawn, play habitat games, visit a beaver pond, learn about owls, salamanders, pond creatures and native plants, and enjoy a hike in the woods, among other things.
