HODGENVILLE, Ky – The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will host a volunteer service day to assist with storm clean up at the park this Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Birthplace Unit from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (ET)

Park volunteers will assist raking and picking up tree debris and limbs from last week’s storm. Park staff have been busy all week clearing trails and removing large trees that fell in visitor areas. It is estimated that the storm work will take weeks before it is completely cleared. As the park prepares for the mowing season, removing tree limbs and debris will ensure safety of staff and visitor and assist the care of the landscape. Volunteers are asked to bring their own rakes and work gloves.

For more information, and for those who are interested in participating in the event are encouraged to register by calling the Birthplace Visitor Center at 270-358-3137.
