An annual Presidential proclaimed week for the celebration and recognition of your National Parks.

Park will go to summer schedule and be open daily from 8 A.M. until 6:45 P.M. EDT.

Interpretive programs given daily, check with information desk for times and location.

Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek will be staffed daily from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. EDT


Independence Day - Monday, July 4. The park will host a day event beginning at 9:00 A.M. EDT with living historian Joe Wiegand as President Theodore Roosevelt at the park and an evening event at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown, Kentucky at 6:30 P.M. EDT.

The park will host a weekend event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the park's existence. Living historians portraying four Presidents - Theodore Roosevelt, William H. Taft, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower - who visited the park in the past as well as Abraham Lincoln and Lincoln Farm Association Board member Samuel Clemens will be in attendance. Events will be held throughout the weekend with a special anniversary ceremony and celebration will be held on Saturday, July 16. Event to mark the centennial of the park - Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17. Main event on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. EDT


Founders Day - Thursday, August 25
The National Park Service was created on this date in 1916. Founders Day is an opportunity for parks to show our pride, connect with our visitors, and reflect on the importance of the National Park Service mission.

The park will host an event to observe the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Living historian portraying President Woodrow Wilson, who signed the Organic Act that created the National Park Service, and the park's Enabling Legislation will be on hand to meet and talk with visitors. Re-enactment of the signing of the park's Enabling Legislation and Organic Act will be held beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST. Event to mark the centennial of the National Park Service - Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28. Main event on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. EDT


Labor Day - Monday, September 5
Park will go to winter schedule and be open daily from 8 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. ET.
The Visitor Center and Memorial Building close at 4:00 P.M. ET.

The grounds of Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek will be open daylight hours year-round with interpretive staff Saturday and Sunday only September 6 through October 30: 8:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. ET

Walk Through Lincoln's Life - September 7 and 8
An educational curriculum based event for school children and adults. The public is invited.

U. S. Constitution Week - Monday, September 12
Marks the anniversary of the U. S. Constitution being written, signed, and approved in 1787.

Public Lands Day - Saturday, September 26
Is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands that Americans enjoy.


Veterans Day - Friday, November 11

Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 24
Park is closed for the holiday.


Christmas Day - Sunday, December 25
Park is closed for the holiday.


All events listed will take place at the Birthplace Unit on US 31E three miles south of Hodgenville, KY. The park operates on Eastern Time.

The Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek is located on US 31E six miles north of Hodgenville, KY.
