HODGENVILLE, Ky – The Knob Creek Tavern Visitor Center at the Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek will be closed on Thursday, September 5, 2024 due to the park’s Safety Stand Down Day. The Knob Creek Tavern and Boyhood Home Unit is part of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park.
A safety stand down is a deliberate pause in operations during which park employees will focus on topics that affect their safety, health, and wellness of staff, volunteers and the visiting public. Each year, the National Park Service has committed to multiple stand down events.
The Knob Creek Tavern Visitor Center will reopen for normal hours on Friday, September 6, 2024 and will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST
