During the week of April 30 to May 4, 2018, the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will undertake a project to clean and seal the historic floor of the park's Memorial Building. Work includes a deep-cleaning of the floor as well placement of a protective sealant that will help preserve the floor for the next 100 years.
Visitors to the park will still be allowed limited access to the inside of the Memorial Building to view the Symbolic Birth Cabin, on Monday, to Thursday of that week. However, on Friday, May 4, 2018, the Memorial Building will be closed to the public to allow the protective sealant to cure. The Memorial Building is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
If anyone has any questions, or concerns please contact the park at 270-358-3137.
