HODGENVILLE, Ky – Flowers and trees blooming at the park mean prom season and senior graduation is right around the corner!  Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is proud to be a traditional location for senior and prom photos. Staff send our graduating seniors a salute for their hard work and a hope for a fun and safe prom evening.  The Park welcomes students and their families to come and make the park part of their memory.

The following information is provided to help plan for your visit to the park.

•  Park hours at the Birthplace Unit are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET) daily. The park’s Memorial Building is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET) daily.  After hours, families can park outside the entrance and walk through the gate to reach the steps of the Memorial Building, after the unit’s main gate closes at 5:00 p.m.  Park grounds close at dusk.

•  Park hours at the Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek are from dawn to dusk daily.  The Knob Creek Tavern Visitor Center is open on weekends only in April and May from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (ET.)  This unit is an excellent alternative location to take prom photographs, as the Knob Creek Farm and symbolic cabin make a beautiful outdoor setting. 

•  A life size cardboard Abraham Lincoln will be available in May for photo shoots. Please come to the Visitor Center and check Mr. Lincoln out. A driver’s license or other id will be needed.
