Regular park hours will be in effect at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park starting Monday, May 29, 2017. The Birthplace Unit will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT and the Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT.
During the Summer season that will run from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the park will offer free Ranger-led walks and talks at the Birthplace and Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek every day. A schedule of the offered programs is available online on the park's website and at the Birthplace Visitor Center. Featured programing includes living history programs offered on the weekends at the Boyhood Home Unit that includes candle making demonstrations and a Pottery Program. Visitors who attend all programs are encouraged to bring water, bug spray, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. All programs are free and open to the public.
