HODGENVILLE - The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park Knob Creek Tavern "Open Doors" event is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2021. For the last 20 years the local community have collaborated with the National Park Service and the State of Kentucky for the acquisition of the land, the restoration of the tavern, new visitor facilities, and new interpretive exhibits.
The National Park Service, in coordination with the Regional Office, and the Department of Public Health, has taken steps to ensure the safety of visitors and park staff during the reopening. To that end, significant modifications have been made to the event surrounding the reopening in light of the ongoing pandemic. The park plans to hold the larger Knob Creek Reopening Celebration in 2022. News and further details on this future event will be posted on the park's webpage and Facebook page.
Please see the following schedule of events for the day of the event. All times are on Eastern Standard Time. All events will be limited to less than 50 participants and Tavern Visitor Center will have timed visitation. Visitors can sign up for these programs the day of the event at the Knob Creek Tavern.
