HODGENVILLE – The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will observe National Jr. Ranger Day on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

The park will conduct Jr. Ranger Day activities based on the theme “Park Prescription: Get Outside!”  Children will be able to participate in the event at the Birthplace Picnic Area from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (ET) that day.  Activities kids can participate in include the park’s Jr. Ranger book, Bird Bingo! nature journaling and doing the Sounds Explorer Jr. Ranger Book. Children can earn their Jr. Ranger badge and learn about the park. A special Jr. Ranger Day pin will be available for kids who complete the Sounds Explorer Book.

Kids and their families will also be able to get a “sneak peek” at the park’s new TRACK Trails program during the event. Several activities that are a part of this program will be available on National Jr. Ranger Day. The TRACK Trails program will debut later this year. This program is the first of its kind in Kentucky and the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace is the first site to host this program.

This event is free and open to the public.
