Hundreds of years ago, ancestral Hawaiians came upon Kekaha Waiʻole - the rugged lava fields along the Kona Coat near modern day Kailua. "Spirits of Kaloko" tells the amazing story of how our ancestors transformed this land by creating loko iʻa - fishponds. Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park protects and preserves the lands that sustained our ancestors. Today, this wahi pana inspires our culture to flourish and thrive.
