Park News Release

Vicksburg National Military Park will be conducting audits to ensure compliance with the fee collection program. Visitors 16 years of age and older are required to obtain one of the many pass options the park offers. A violation notice may be issued to visitors not complying with this requirement. Passes may be purchased at either of the entrance stations located off Clay Street or Fort Hill during regular business hours.

Superintendent Mayr expresses her appreciation to the community for their continued support of Vicksburg National Military Park. Fees collected provide much needed services and projects to enhance the visitor’s experience. Currently fee funded projects include: developing a new orientation film($250,000) and paving the trail to the Kentucky monument ($75,000.00). Both projects are in development and should be complete in late 2009.
