Sister-Park Agreement between Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks and Cambodia's Samlaut Protected Area: This five-year, five-page agreement facilitates the sharing of management methods and philosophies, experiences, skills, technical knowledge, and professional abilities between the two park staffs. Park Superintendent Craig Axtell and Cambodian Director of Conservation and Parks Chay Samith endorsed the agreement. A signing ceremony with an exchange of national flags capped a three-day tour by the Minister of the Environment for Cambodia, His Excellency Mok Mareth; US Ambassador to Cambodia Joseph Mussomeli; and Stephan Bognar, Executive Director of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Maddox Jolie Pitt Project (MJP).

Did You Know?
Sequoia wood proved too brittle for most lumber uses. Some felled sequoias even shattered as they hit the ground. Most lumbered sequoias ended up as fence posts, shingles, and even match sticks!
