Plan Your Visit

Though one could spend an entire day enjoying the beauty of Scotts Bluff National Monument, plan a stay for a minumum of two hours to fully enjoy the park.

Browsing the exhibits in the museum, watching our 12-minute video on the Oregon Trail, driving to the top of the bluff and hiking our trails are the most popular activities at Scotts Bluff.

Eagle Rock at the Scotts Bluff National Monument

When Scotts Bluff National Monument was established in 1919, it was believed to be the highest point in Nebraska. The highest point is actually in Kimball County near the Colorado state line.
