From Interstate 480
- Take exit 4 toward US 6/Dodge St.
- Turn north (right) on to N. 10th St.
- In a half-mile, turn north-east (right) on to Abbott Dr.
- In another half-mile, turn south (right) on to Riverfront Dr.
- Continue south on Riverfront Drive for half a mile to arrive at the Headquarters of the Lewis and Clark NHT (in the same building as the NPS Regional Office).
From Highway 75
- Exit at Cuming Street then head East (right) on Cuming for 1.5 miles toward Eppley Airfield (Cuming Street will become Abbott Drive).
- Turn South (right) onto Riverfront Drive.
- Continue south on Riverfront Drive for half a mile to arrive at the Headquarters of the Lewis and Clark NHT (in the same building as the NPS Regional Office).
Parking: The parking lot does not have designated parking for RV's or buses, it is also not easy to navigate long or oversized vehicles in the lot. Nearby city lots may be used when visitor center lot is full.
Eppley Airfield, the nearest airport with both domestic and international flights, is approximately 4.5 miles from Trail headquarters.
To reach the visitor center from Eppley Airfield, exit the airport by turning left onto Abbot Drive. Continuing south on Abbot Drive, you will enter Iowa. In less than 0.25 miles, however, remaining on Abbot Drive you will be back in Nebraska. Turn left onto Riverfront Drive. Continue on Riverfront Drive for approximately 1 mile to arrive at the headquarters of the Lewis and Clark NHT.
Omaha is served by Amtrak's California Zephyr train, running between Chicago, IL and Emeryville, CA.
Omaha Amtrak Station is located at 1003 S 9th St, Omaha, NE 68108, approximately 1.5 miles from the visitor center.
Metro Transit operates local bus routes that stop near the visitor center, including ORBT and Route 106. Visit their website for maps, schedules, and up-to-date information.
The visitor center is located along an extensive riverfront trail network, with access from many nearby sites in Omaha and Council Bluffs.
Heartland Bike Share e-bikes are available to rent from stations throughout the region. There is a bike share station outside our visitor center, under the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.
