 PLANNING SPECIAL EVENTS

Weddings, Family Reunions, Memorial Services, and Other Site-Specific Celebrations

Weddings and other planned gatherings are permitted in Colorado National Monument in four locations: (1) the vicinity of the Book Cliffs View shelter, (2) the Saddlehorn Picnic Area, (3) the Devils Kitchen Picnic Area, and (4) the Saddlehorn Amphitheater. The Book Cliffs View area is the most popular site for weddings due to the beautiful views at that location. A special use permit is required and entrance fee policies apply. No area is closed to the public during the three hour period for which the permit is valid. Only one permit will be issued for a specific site and time.

Information to assist with planning your event:

The number of participants may be limited depending on the selected location.
