Wrangell Subsistence Resource Commission Announces March 1-2 Meeting

COPPER CENTER, AK – The Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Subsistence Resource Commission will meet by teleconference on Tuesday, March 1, and Wednesday, March 2, 2022, to consider a range of issues related to subsistence hunting and fishing in the park.

Commission business will include the opportunity to develop proposals to change federal subsistence fishing regulations. The Federal Subsistence Board’s deferral of a proposal to create a dip-net fishery for salmon in the lower Copper River will also be discussed, and a variety of reports will be presented. The meeting is open to the public, and public testimony opportunities are provided. Members of the public are encouraged to participate. Written comments may also be received by email at [e-mail] by 4 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022, for presentation at the meeting.

On March 1, the meeting will start at 9 AM and recess for the day at 5 PM or upon completion of business. On March 2, the meeting will start at 9 AM and continue until business is completed. If business is completed on March 1, 2022, the meeting will adjourn, and no meeting will take place on March 2, 2022.
