The Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve Visitor Center in Copper Center will remain open daily through Monday, September 30th, 2019. That means this week is the last opportunity in 2019 to experience the park film in the surround sound theater, to visit the indoor exhibit building, and to purchase books, maps and gift items at the Alaska Geographic store. All of these facilities are located at Mile 106.8 Richardson Highway and are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Monday.
In addition, the Slana Ranger Station and bookstore remain open daily through 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29th. National Park Service visitor facilities in Chitina and Kennecott are already closed for the season.
