Copper Center, AK—Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is seeking comments on proposed changes to the Superintendent’s Compendium. The compendium is the summary of park specific rules implemented under the discretionary authority of the park Superintendent. It is updated annually and is a written compilation that addresses designations, closures, permit requirements, and other restrictions and/or specifications. The Compendium, as part of the parkrelated regulations, helps provide for the use, enjoyment and protection of Alaska's National Parks.

After review and consideration of the need for annual updates, the following changes are proposed for 2021: a clarification for the use of electric bicycles (e-bikes) in the park; designation of the Jumbo Creek Campground in the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark; and designation of the Jack Lake airstrip located off the Nabesna Road for seasonal administrative use.

The public comment period regarding proposed changes to the compendium is open from January 15, 2021 - February 15, 2021. Visit the park planning website at parkplanning.nps.gov/WRSTcompendium2021 for information on proposed changes and instructions for submitting a comment.
