Women’s Rights NHP to Show The National Parks: This is America

Seneca Falls, NY - Women's Rights National Historical Park is pleased to announce that it will show the documentary film The National Parks: This is America this Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28, at 12:00 noon.

The National Parks: This is America, a mini-documentary created by Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan, celebrates the diverse history of the national parks.This film brings together stories of extraordinary people from a variety of backgrounds who devoted their lives to the idea of preserving and protecting these special places for everyone.This film is 45 minutes long.

The film is being shown as part of Women's Rights National Historical Park's first Winter Film Festival.The park exists to commemorate and preserve the events of the First Women's Rights Convention that was held in Seneca Falls in 1848."We are proud to be part of the National Park system, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating our shared history and culture through film," said Superintendent Tammy Duchesne.

The park is also showing the film during April prior to its celebration of National Parks Week from April 21-29."We are proud to share the stories of America's national parks during April," said Duchesne.During National Park Week, April 21-29, all 397 national parks offer free admission, all week long.The National Park Service is proud to once again join with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks, to present National Park Week.
