Seneca Falls, NY--Women's Rights National Historical Park will offer Ranger guided kayak tours of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal on August 31, September 7, and September 14.The tours will meet at the Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center at 10 am.

As a part of Michelle Obama's Let's Move Outside initiative, the park is offering kayak tours to encourage our visitors to enjoy the outdoor resources within our park. The kayak tours are suitable for both advanced and beginner kayakers and offer an excellent opportunity for both adults and children to explore the region's waterways.

"The kayak tours are a great way to expand our tours here at the park by observing the natural resources in the park and learning history simultaneously," said Superintendent Ami Ghazala."It is a great way to view everything our park has to offer while taking in the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region," added Chief of Interpretation David Malone.

Kayak tours will depart from the Seneca Falls Rec. Center at 10:15 a.m. after a short briefing about water safety from the rangers. Tours will travel east along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal into Lake Van Cleef, where kayakers can travel through locks 2 and 3, or explore the home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. If rentals of kayaks or canoes are needed, please contact Fuzzy Guppies or Canal Side Experiences, which are both are located in Waterloo, NY.
