Women’s Rights National Historical Park is Talking Up Women’s History on WXXI’s Homework Hotline

Seneca Falls, NY – In honor of Women's History Month in March, WXXI's Homework Hotline hit the road and headed to Women's Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls, NY to film a segment for their "Getting Historical" series celebrating women's history. The PBS affiliate's program, Homework Hotline, is a live call-in show where kids get help with their homework problems right on the air.

National Park Service ranger Patrick Stenshorn led the film crew through the park's Wesleyan Chapel, Elizabeth Cady Stanton House, and exhibit areas explaining the significance of the First Women's Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls in 1848 and in this event's legacy to advocate for human rights for all. The episode will air on March 12, 2014 at 5:30 pm and Ranger Patrick will be in the WXXI studios to answer student's questions about the Women's Rights Movement following the broadcast!

WXXI's Homework Hotline is designed for students in grades 4 through 12 and presents daily thematic segments on health, animals, book reviews, history, environment issues, and people and places in New York State through the help of teachers and subject matter experts who are ready to assist students with their homework. To see everything featured on the show first hand, Women's Rights National Historical Park welcomes the public to visit the park Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. All park programs are free and special programming is offered throughout the year.
