Seneca Falls - Women's Rights National Historical Park Superintendent Tina Orcutt announced today that the park will be offering a special workshop for children on August 26, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the visitor center at 136 Fall Street, Seneca Falls. "Women's Rights National Historical Park is proud to offer this special workshop on Women's Equality Day. Bring the kids and come join in the fun," said Orcutt. Park Guide Andrea DeKoter will conduct the workshop as a celebration of Women's Equality Day. The workshop will include a brief talk about the first woman's rights convention, followed by a tour of the photographic exhibit "Changing the Face of Power: Women in the U.S. Senate." Children ages 8 to 12 and their parents are invited to participate in all the guided activities, group discussions, refreshments, and prizes. "We're interested in helping young people learn how far women have come in American politics. A lot of the rights we all enjoy result from the important role women play in our government," said DeKoter. To sign up for this program, please call the visitor center at (315) 568-0024. |
