Safety

President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site welcomes all visitors and wants to ensure that every visitor has the safest experience. While you're visiting, here are a few safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Our main parking location for vehicle parking is at the southeast corner of S. Pine and W. 2nd street. This parking has accessible parking spaces, parking for large vehicles, and is the accessible entrance. Parking on W. Division Street is allowed but recommended only for small passager vehicles. Please make sure you take precautions while parking and crossing the street to Visitor Center.
  • Both the visitor center and the birthplace home are historic buildings, so please use caution while walking up stairs or the ramps. Restrooms and potable water are located at our park's comfort station (open daily, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST/CDT).
  • In the summer, temperatures can exceed 100°F (38°C), so please take precautions for yourself and your pet or service animal.
  • Only service animals are allowed inside the visitor center and the Clinton Birthplace Home. NPS policy defines a service animal as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. The tasks performed by the animal must be directly related to the person’s disability.
  • The red imported fire ant can be found all over the southern half of Arkansas - these fire ants have a reddish-brown hue and are most likely to be found in open areas where they can receive a lot of sunlight. Please watch your step as you walk around the NHS grounds.
  • Park Rangers are available to assist in the event of an emergency. We hope that you keep these safety tips in mind and have the most enjoyable visit.
