Out of This World Fun - Solar Eclipse Viewing Program at War in the Pacific

HAGATNA, Guam – War in the Pacific National Historical Park is hosting a Solar Eclipse Viewing Program Tuesday, August 22 at 2:00 am at the T. Stell Newman Visitor Center. Join Park Rangers as we remotely connect to the extensive NASA coverage of the total solar eclipse over the United States on our large theater screen. NASA’s coverage will include high-quality viewing of the eclipse from ground based telescopes, high altitude balloons, research aircraft, and satellites.

Although Guam will not be able to see the upcoming total solar eclipse, Guam’s NASA Ambassador and Park Ranger Kelly Carroll will be on hand with discussions, examples, and experiments to complement the watching of the solar eclipse coverage. The program is free, family friendly, and will last approximately two hours.

On August 21, national parks across the nation will be conducting programs to watch the first total solar eclipse viewed in 38 years in the United States.

Details of NASA’s coverage can be found at eclipse2017.nasa.gov.
