Throughout February - The T. Stell Newman Visitor Center hosts spectacular exhibits that feature gripping stories and information about Guam's history, the Pacific Theater of World War II, and the beautiful natural resources of our island. Visitors can also watch a 10-minute movie in our theater and shop in the outstanding bookstore operated by Pacific Historic Parks, our non-profit partner that supports the park. The visitor center is open from 9 am - 4:30 pm daily and is located just outside Naval Base Guam main gate.

February 2, Saturday: 1 pm at the Visitor Center - "Curator's Corner" - Join our park curator for a discussion of the world at war in February 1943. Through an up-close look at museum artifacts, you'll learn more about the American victory at Guadalcanal and the formation of the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve.  We will also examine African-American participation in the Pacific Theater and the controversial 1944 race riots at Hagåtña, Guam. (2 hours)

February 3, Sunday: 2 pm at Asan Beach - "The Land Remains" - Meet at the restrooms and explore the history of Asan Ridge through a fun hike. (45 minutes)

February 9, Saturday: 2 pm at Ga'an Point - "Agat Amtrac" - The past and future of an offshore wreck illustrate surprising, unintended destinies of the Marines and their machine. (30 minutes)

February 10, Sunday: 2 pm at the Visitor Center - "Map Talk" - Stop by the visitor center and learn about America's island hopping strategy to defeat Japan. (20 minutes)

February 16, Saturday: 2 pm at Fonte Plateau - "Death Before Dishonor" - Ever wonder about those big, strange cave doors on Nimitz Hill? Discover the Japanese Command Post bunker and discover the real-life, haunting story of its last inhabitants. (30 minutes)

February 17, Sunday: 2 pm at Asan Bay Overlook - "Ships of War" - Listen to the stories of the ships that fought in World War II and in the Battle for Guam. (30 minutes)

February 23, Saturday: 10 am at the Visitor Center - "Volunteer Open House" - Interested in getting involved and supporting your national park?  Stop by the visitor center to learn how you can become a VIP (Volunteer In Parks)!  Park rangers, volunteers, and managers will be on hand all morning to discuss fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities, upcoming projects and experiences. (2 hours)

February 24, Sunday: 2 pm at Asan Bay Overlook - "Guam Ever After" - Guam's role in World War II didn't stop with its Liberation. The years immediately following the war changed Guam forever. If you don't know how, you might be surprised to find out! (30 minutes)
