War in the Pacific National Historical Park hosts Keep Guam Beautiful, a community oriented clean-up event on the second Saturday of every month, from 9:00 am to noon. This fun family event is a great way to learn about the importance of taking care of Guam, and some World War II history, as we have special guest speakers to teach us before each event. Over the past eight months, more than 400 volunteers have joined us in cleaning up the coastline of Asan Beach and Ga'an and Apaca Point in Agat, collecting thousands of pounds of trash and recyclables! Keep Guam Beautiful is open to people of all ages, and qualifies for community service or service learning hours! The park provides all cleanup supplies but recommends bringing refillable water bottles, a small pack to carry your water, close-toe shoes, and sun protection with a hat and sunscreen. The next Keep Guam Beautiful is scheduled for 9:00 am this Saturday, June 11, at Apaca Point in Agat. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to join us. Be a part of this exciting movement to clean up our island, restore habitat, and learn more about the unique environment and history of Guam!We are looking forward to Keep Guam Beautiful with you!
