War in the Pacific National Historical Park Hosts Junior Ranger Academy!

This summer, War in the Pacific National Historical Park along with partner Pacific Historic Parks is proud to host its annual Junior Ranger Academy. The Junior Ranger Academy is a great opportunity for youth to learn about Guam and its national park, have fun, and share their park experiences with family, friends, and schoolmates.

Junior Rangers will spend a week with park rangers where they will see World War II artifacts, hear about the WWII battles on Guam, spend time outdoors, and participate in restoring a WWII site. The program is designed to engage youth in becoming ambassadors of the park as they help fulfill the National Park Service mission of stewardship and preservation.

Junior Ranger Academy is free. Youth in grades 6th, 7th and 8th are eligible to join but must register to participate. Registration forms are available online at www.nps.gov/wapa or the T. Stell Newman Visitor Center, right outside the main gate to Naval Base Guam. The last day to submit a completed registration form and a $20 refundable deposit is Monday, May 29. Space is limited.

Junior Ranger programs will run from June 5 to June 9, 2017. Registered participants who complete all five days of the program will become Junior Rangers and receive an official Junior Ranger badge and certificate.
