January Public Programs at War in the Pacific National Historical Park
 
January 14, Saturday: 9 am at Asan Beach - “Keep Guam Beautiful”
This community cleanup will take place at Asan Beach - a former WWII invasion beach. Cold water in coolers, protective gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Please bring refillable water bottles and wear closed-toe shoes, hats, and sunscreen. For more information, contact Lisa Aguon at service.learning.doivista@gmail.com.
 
January 21, Saturday: 9 am to 2 pm at Asan Beach - “Sidewalk Chalk Festival - Art in the Park”
Join us at Asan Beach on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, to enjoy the great outdoors, learn about Guam’s WWII history and our island’s natural and cultural resources, and create works of art with family and friends. This event is open to the general public of all ages and all art supplies will be provided free of charge. January 15, Sunday: 2 pm at Visitor Center - “Science Sunday”

January 28, Saturday: 10 am to 1 pm at Fonte Plateau - “Fonte Plateau Bunker Open House”
The public is invited to explore the Japanese communications bunker and WW2 artifacts to be displayed at Fonte Plateau unit on Nimitz Hill on Route 6. The gates of the bunker will remain open for the duration of the open house. Park rangers will be on hand to answer any questions about the bunker and the artifacts on display. Flashlights will be provided to visitors. All ages are welcome.
