On Sunday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m., Washita Battlefield National Historic Site presents another edition of the Find Your Park lecture series. Throughout 2016, the National Park Service is celebrating it Centennial and encourages you to Find Your Park. To help you Find Your Park, a Park Ranger at Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will share their experiences of another National Park Service unit every month.

In February, Park Ranger Kevin Bowles Mohr will engage visitors in conversations over delectable chips and cookies. In recognition of African American History Month, Ranger Mohr will explore Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta, GA, as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in D.C. The snacks were made possible through Points of Light , founded by George H.W. Bush, "to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world." Points of Light donated a Target gift card to support bringing the community together for "America's Sunday Supper, inspired by Dr. King's vision of people of diverse backgrounds interacting on personal levels."

Although not a full course meal, join us on Sunday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. for an opportunity to swap stories, share snacks, and Find Your Park!

At the end of the interaction, there will be an opportunity for participants to volunteer. With Kathryn Harrison's retirement, there will be some shuffling of offices and furniture. If anyone is able to help move some furniture and other items, please stick around.
