What is a Junior Ranger?

A Junior Ranger is an important person who helps park rangers take care of our national parks.

Do you like exploring the park, taking boat trips, hiking in park forests, or seeing a bald eagle fly overhead? Would you like to have fun and help us take care of the park?

If the answer is yes, then you might be just the kid we're looking for to become our newest Junior Ranger!

Four images on the cover. One shows kids snowshoeing, one has kids gathered around a map while a park ranger points, one has two kids looking at a paper outside, and the last image shows a person dressed up as a voyageur in colorful clothing.
Booklets are free.

How do you become a Junior Ranger?

You can become a Junior Ranger by completing a Junior Ranger booklet. Pick up a free booklet at any of the three visitor centers. After completing the booklet, present it to a park ranger or volunteer to receive your badge and certificate.

Learning about Voyageurs from afar? We have put together an opportunity for you to become a Voyageurs Virtual Ranger. You can also head to https://www.voyageurs.org/juniorrangers to download 'Junior Ranger Night Explorer' and 'Voyageurs Junior Ranger' booklets to learn about the night skies and Voyageurs National Park from home!
