Vicksburg National Military Park is hosting three outdoor concerts in front of the Visitor Center located at 3201 Clay Street. All concerts start at 7:00 PM and admission is free. On Friday. May 24, The U.S. Navy Mid-South Band will perform the opening concert starting out the series with patriotic music. On Saturday, May 25, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will present a program centering on the Civil War. Country music star Trace Adkins will make a special guest appearance with the Symphony, and some musical pieces will be coordinated with unqiue visual presentations by Westwater Arts. On Sunday, May 26, the Jackson Community Mass Choir, with special guest Maddrama Performance Troupe, will present the culminating performance of the concert series.

There will be no parking at Vicksburg National Military Park. The tour road and visitor center parking lot will be closed at 5:00 PM. Visitors who regularly walk, run, or bike the tour road will not be able to park in the visitor center parking lot during these evenings.

Parking is being provided off-site by The Vicksburg Outlet Mall located at 4000 South Frontage Rd, exit 4A or 5B off of I-20, and Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg located at 4116 Washington St., exit 1A off of I-20. Vicksburg Warren School District will provide shuttle buses starting at 5:00 PM each night. At the end of the concerts visitors will be shuttled back to their respective parking areas.

Limited parking within walking distance is also available at The Street Clinic, 104 McAuley Drive, and Vicksburg Church of Christ located at 3333 North Frontage Rd.

Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Small coolers are permitted, as there will be no food or drink concessions provided. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. All coolers, bags, and similar items are subject to search.

The park is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and information regarding entrance fees or programs can be found on the park's website at www.nps.gov/vick or calling 601-636-0583.
