This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. John C. Moore's Brigade of Maj. Gen. John H. Forney's Division, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg and commanded by Capt. Henry H. Sengstak. The battery served two 6-pdr. guns, one 3-inch rifle, and one 24-pdr. howitzer, on the line of Moore's Brigade in undetermined positions from 18 May 1863 to the end of the defense on 4 July 1863. Casualties reported were 4 killed, 7 wounded, for a total of 11. During the Greenville Expedition (2 April-25 April 1863), two guns of this battery were attached to Lt. Col.
