Listed on the South Carolina State Memorial. This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Nathan G. Evans' Brigade, of Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French's Division (organized 21 June 1863), Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's Army of Relief, Department of the West, and commanded by Lt. Col. William J. Crawley and Maj. Martin G. Zeigler. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume III, page 1150.]
