Multiple monument located on the south side of Union Avenue approximately.6 mile west of Grant Avenue. Also markers designating the assaults of 19 May 1863, located on the south side of Union Avenue at Thayer's Approach (Park Tour Stop #6) and on Confederate Avenue in front of the 26th Louisiana Redoubt near the head of Thayer's Approach. This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. John M. Thayer's & Col. Milo Smith's 3rd Brigade of Maj. Gen. Frederick Steel's & Brig. Gen. John M. Thayer's 1st Division, Maj. Gen'ls. William T. Sherman & Frederick Steele's XV Army Corps and was commanded by Maj. Don A. Carpenter, Capt. Frederick S. Washburn (killed 22 May 1863) & Col. David Carskaddon.
