Monument is located on Union Avenue, 100 yards west of the Wisconsin Memorial. Also a marker designating the assault of 19 May 1863, located 250 yards south of the Missouri Memorial on the Boy Scout trail. This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Thomas E.G. Ransom's 2d Brigade of Brig. Gen. John McArthur's 6th Division, Maj. Gen. James B. McPherson's XVII Army Corps, and commanded by Lt. Col. Thomas McMahon and Col. Adam G. Malloy.
